Nature’s Bounty

Poetry

Bare tree stands against misty sky

A thing of such beauty almost makes me cry

Bare tree

Sunlight dapples through the moist trees

Catches my breath and makes me weak in my knees

I thank God for this beauty, I send up a prayer

Thank God for Mother Nature or whoever is there

Who would think there would be such power

In the stark beauty of a single flower

A single blue flower against endless seas

Of countless flowers and plants and trees

Beauty surrounds me at every turn

Much needed nature walks I feel I’ve earned

Time for my “Father/daughter” God and me talks

That’s what I find when I go on my walks

Uninterrupted by friend or by foe

I commune with nature and bask in its glow

Life is a gift – don’t ever forget

This could all end tomorrow, you take what you get

Of love, of life, of beauty, of living

For all such gifts are the thanks I am giving

Don’t turn away, not one moment lest you miss

This bounty, this beauty for which we’ve been blessed

Enjoy today and hope for tomorrow too

Be thankful for all this awesomeness God gives you

I am thankful. I am very blessed.

“Indescribable. Uncontainable…..You placed the stars in the sky and you know them by name.

    You are amazing God.

    All powerful. Untameable.

Awestruck, we fall to our knees as we humble proclaim, you are amazing God.” -Chris Tomlin

Wow. This is where you walk? Wow. How beautiful. I can see why you love your walks and your time with nature and God.

I can also see how one might be compelled to create such a lovely poem . . . . the pictures are so beautiful. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the one of the stream.

Thank you for reminding me life is a gift. And thank you for sharing some of yours with me.

Thanks Terre. I feel bad because it’s been so freaking hot that I haven’t walked for a while. I need to just bite the bullet and get out there. I see all manner of “critters” out there. I’ve seen coyotes, beavers, deer, foxes, a cougar, possums, cranes, hawks, and then all manner of your common ones you see every day.

Thank YOU. Thanks for stopping by. I love my nature walks. I just wish it would stop being so freaking hot so I can actually GO on one!

Wonderful combination of thought and photos. The poem speaks much truth and I love the little waterfall in the creek bed. Thanks for starting my weekend on the right note.

  10. Lovely words and lovely images. The color of that lone flower is astonishing. Is it a cornflower?

This morning I saw a butterfly with wings of black and a liquid, saturated turquoise. It’s so rare to see that color in nature. It was an amazing sight.

Wonderful way to put “life” into perspective.

Thanks. I’m not sure what kind of flower it is but since it was the LONE blue flower it was rather startling and caught my eye. I had to take a close up!
