Summertime, Summertime
Time for Grillin’
Time for Chillin’
And cold beer swillin’
Watching the sun
Setting over the hill
Smelling sweet aromas
Wafting from the grill
Listening to the water
singing its song
no worries, no cares
As it babbles along
Temperature soars
skin glistens
Wind whispers
To whoever listens
Chilling by the pond
Breeze blowing through the vines
Sipping on a glass of wine
Your hand in mine
This post was brought to you by Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop and prompt #5.) What five images paint a perfect picture of summer to you? Put those five images together in a piece of writing.(inspired by writingfix.com)
And what a PICTURE PERFECT summer image you’ve painted!
I could actually smell, when you said…
“Smelling sweet aromas
Wafting from the grill”
Ok, and please tell me these photos were taken in your backyard? It’s BEAUTIFUL!
If they were, I’ll be over in a jiffy with a bottle of red wine – HA!
Great post, my dear friend!

I WISH!!! These were taken in Virginia last weekend at my cousin’s house (her guesthouse actually). She has an absolutely beautiful spot very close to the Skyline Drive. I think if I lived there I’d be a hermit. I’d never leave!
I adore the photo journals
How cool is this? Thanks Peg!
Thanks Linda. I kinda enjoyed doing this one.
Peg – wow! Where is this? I love this.
Beautiful photos. I love them.
And then your poem, just adds to it. And yes, these images paint a perfect picture of summer.
These were taken at my cousins place in Virginia. She lives very near the Skyline Drive. Beautiful area. If I lived there I’d never go anywhere!
Wow! I thought it was a hotel/resort. I could imagine not going anywhere if I lived there too.
The photos are really gorgeous!
It could be! LOL
Great, great summary of summer and the photos are perfect! Wow, what a place! I would be picking up Ron and heading your way for that last summer BBQ. 🙂
I’ll just tell my cousin we’re all coming to visit! LOL
Beautiful….when do we eat?
When can yall be here?
Ah, perfectly summer!
I thought the pictures just captured it perfectly! Of course my poetry can’t hold a candle to yours, though.
A perfect wrap-up of summer. I love your photo’s! I live in Virginia, I may have to visit your cousin!
Most of my family lives there. What part?
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the kind words.
Ohhh… love love this! Gorgeous photos and beautiful writing. (And of course partial to the wine!)
Thanks for your kind words. I’m glad you stopped by and who wouldn’t be partial to the wine? LOL
Hi Peg..I love the pictures and I love the poetry to go with. You have described such a relaxing an beautiful setting! I am back to my blog and I hope if you have time you will stop by!!! It is nice to be back among friends.
I am so glad you’re back. I’ll be sure to stop by!
Wow, this would make a great song!
I wonder if I could get someone to pay me for it? LOL
Cookout? Yes please.
And tell me those pictures are not from your own property…because I will be forever jealous.
I wish it was. It’s my cousin’s guesthouse actually.
love the cookout photo!
Thanks and thanks for stopping by. I fell in love with her place.
Love the photos. Sometimes wish I had a back yard so I could grill as well.
Thanks for sharing,
Thanks for stopping by! Always nice to see you! I have a backyard and grill (although not as nice as this one) but now since we have no kids at home we hardly ever use it!
Tell your cousin I want to come and visit her! Man that was just gorgeous and looks so peaceful and relaxing! I want me some of that! Sigh…
I know. Hubby and I want to go back. He wants to chll in the soaker tub! LOL If I lived there I definitely might become a hermit. I’d have no reason to leave.
That patio is to die for. Temps are cooler here now at night. I’m looking forward to the patio fire ring and a glass of wine!
Can I come over then? I like patios… and fire ribgs… AND wine!
