Okay, so you know I have a hard time following directions. It’s Thursday so that means it’s time for Mama Kat’s and her awesome Almost World Famous Writer’s Workshop. I chose prompt #4.) In honor of St. Patrick’s Day looming ahead write a poem about a time you got lucky. It wasn’t until AFTER I concocted my little ditty that I realized I wass supposed to write a poem about getting lucky. OOPS…. So instead you get one about St. Patty’s Day itself. I’m sure you will get over it. So here we go!
The luck of the Irish is in my bones
I’m all four leaf clovers and Blarney Stones
I eat potatoes and drink green beer
And stumble around from there to here
You go to Savannah and roam the street
Say “Kiss me! I’m Irish” to everyone you meet
You watch the green beer fill your cup
And hope you don’t drink too much and throw up
Yes, St Patty’s day is close at hand
Where partying hardy is the law of the land
Before you know it the party is over
and the only thing coming up is your food and not clover
Yes, I’m over it! You captured the spirit of St. Patty’s Day perfectly! 😉
Thanks! Yeah, I’m too old for that stuff anymore.I can’t handle the resultant hangover!
Love it!
Thank you!
I’d say it fits!
