Tomorrow is Wordless Wednesday so I will share today that tomorrow is my 600th post. Yeah, I can’t believe it either! Where did the time go? I think half of those (almost) have come this year as I’ve struggled to keep up my end of the bargain I made to post every day for the entire year. So far, so good. Can’t make a promise for the rest of the year but so far I am on track.
I think the thing I am most surprised about this being my 600th post is that I’ve found 600 things to share! Hopefully I can find at least another 120 to finish out the year and then I think I’ll slow down my posting to maybe weekdays? I’ll find a schedule I feel comfortable with and try to stick to it.
Hubby suggested that I take this opportunity to link back to my favorite posts I’ve written. I guess I can do that. But first, I’d like to thank you all for sticking with me and making me feel like I have something worthwhile to say… that I have something you want to read. And for those of you who I love to read… thank YOU for continuing to share your lives with me.
I guess the first one I should link to and I have shared this one a couple of times at least so if you’ve read it please feel free to skip over it but it’s the one that started it all. I have to say it was one of my favorites. It’s where I talk about all my weird doctor visits called “Thanks Eve”: https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2010/01/12/3/. I’m still so grateful for my baby sister Suzi who asked me to guest post for her. It’s all her fault! She was the one who made me think you guys would want to hear what I had to say. She was the one who egged me on and made me think I was funny. So it was my very first guest post and also the very first post on my own blog! If you haven’t read it, I hope you enjoy it. I think my other favorite was probably about hubby’s encounter with the “smelly cats” when we lived in Virginia called “Poo Kitty, Poo Car”: https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2010/02/22/poo-kitty-poo-car/.
Since I’m not very objective I asked a couple of other people to suggest ones they liked and hubby picked the one where he had to give the eulogy for his friend and mentor Bunny in “Remembering Bunny”: https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2011/01/21/remembering-bunny/. My friend Mike suggested one I just wrote recently. Since he and I are from the same home town and went to the same elementary, middle and high schools
together (even though he was a grade ahead of me) it resonated with him too. That would be the one I wrote about how my mother tried to explain integration of the schools to me in “Same As Us”: https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2011/08/25/same-as-us/. One of the ones he said he liked was the one I wrote about my brother after he passed away “RIP My Dear Brother”: https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2011/04/rip-my-dear-brother/.
I think this is the one. I wrote several concerning my brother during that time frame so I’m not sure if this is the exact one or not.
Suzi my dear sweet baby sister from The Water Witches Daughter (http://suzicate.wordpress.com/ ) chose the first one I wrote about Madeline and The Dresser Palmer House “Ain’t No Haints (Or Are There)” as her favorite: https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2010/07/29/aint-no-haints-or-are-there/. She said she also enjoyed when I wrote about how hubby used to inadvertently flash our neighbor all the time in “Mr. Peep Out Tom”: https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2011/06/24/mr-peep-out-tom/ and the one I wrote about my cravings when I was pregnant with my first child in “Nacho Time” : https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2011/06/16/nacho-time/ or the one I wrote about our close encounters with a bear at my parent’s house when we went up for Relay For Life in “Bearly Waiting”: https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2011/05/31/bearly-waiting/.
#1 told me she liked the one where I talked about my favorite picture which reminded me of how hubby used to hold her hand and walk to the end of the driveway and sit there with her every morning reading the paper but I couldn’t find it! So I figured as long as it was all about her she’d like it so I found another one about when she was little called “COCO & DODO” which is what she used to call coca cola and donuts : https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2010/02/22/coco-dodo/. Funny she just texted me and that was one she picked. She also picked “Across
a Crowded Room” which talks about how hubby and I first met: https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2010/01/30/across-a-crowded-room/
and the one that talks about some of her escapades with her baby sister in “It’s a Baby, It’s a Doll, It’s a Baby Doll?”: https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2010/01/26/its-a-baby-its-s-doll-its-a-baby-doll/ and finally from her is the one where I talk about the different roles each of us plays in “Rolls of Roles”: https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2010/04/29/rolls-of-roles/.
And my friend Margie, who took the absolutely fabulous pictures at my mom and dad’s anniversary party last year? Be sure and check out her website at www.hatcherportraitdesigns.com. She picked a few that some others had picked but she said that hands down her favorite was one I wrote a couple of months ago calls “Beauty or Brains?”: https://pegbur7.wordpress.com/2011/03/05/beauty-or-brains/.
That’s plenty for you to peruse if you’re new here and haven’t read them. If you take the time I hope you will like them. If you have already read them I hope this recap brings a small smile to your face as you recall them. If you don’t recall them or haven’t read them, you might want to read one a day or so if you are so inclined. I’m sure more than one a day might be more than anyone can handle.
Again, thank you all for making this possible (I feel like I’m accepting an academy award or something) and thank you for being loyal friends and followers. I truly do your friendships and your readership! Yall are the greatest!
