Time once again for Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop.  This time I chose prompt #1) The simple things…  and if you haen’t figured it out… that’s what the title means (Keep It Simple Stupid)

They say simple things make us happy

They say simple things in life are free

They say “Keep it Simple Stupid”

And for the most part I tend to agree

I like the simple act

Of being kind

Of sitting on the front porch

To chill and unwind

Looking at God’s masterpieces

Of beautiful sunsets and sunrises

Of enjoying the company of loved ones

And enjoying little surprises

Sitting on a porch swing

And watching the world go by

A good cup of coffee in the morning

And even a good cleansing cry

Staying home with hubby

Watching TV or reading books

Walking hand in hand with him

Conversations exchanged with only a look

Watching my children

Happy in their life

Being a mother

Being a wife

These are the simple acts I crave

That make me happy and smile

Be simple, loving, kind and carefree

Come stay on the porch for a while

Great poem! The simple things are the best, and what I hope to enjoy all the time after next week.
